Hello CJDS families! My name is Lindsay Kennedy, and I am so excited to be teaching middle school this year. I moved to Charlotte in June of 2021 from Chicago, Illinois, and I have loved getting to know and explore Charlotte this past year. I truly cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I have a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s in Education in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment from National-Louis University. For the past ten years, I have exclusively taught middle school. I have taught a wide range of subjects including ELA, math, history, and advisory. Also, I love working with students on their executive functioning skills. It is so important for middle schoolers to hone their skills regarding time management, self-advocacy, and critical thinking just to name a few. My goal is to create a classroom community that is rooted in partnership, empathy, and hard work. Let’s also have some FUN, too!
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, son, and dog. I love to read, run, dance, and discover all that North Carolina has to offer.
I look forward to meeting and working with you all this school year!
