Bubbe Hinda’s Mitzvah Sack
We started off our year in kindergarten with a Jewish children’s literature unit.
We read the book, As Big As An Egg by Rochel Sandman.
In the story, Chaim, the main character, learned how important it is to share even the little bit that he had. The children then drew pictures of what they would share in Bubbe Hinda’s mitzvah sack.
We had a blast acting out the story!
We then read the companion book, Perfect Porridge.
We talked about how doing a Mitzvah is like making perfect porridge. You have to take the time to do it right!
Of course, we had to make our own perfect porridge. 🙂
It was delicious!
