Fire Safety, JCC Library and Conferences

Hello parents and families,

Last week we had a very special presentation from Ms. Kristi, a CM Firefighter. She delivered some very important facts about fire safety. Your child may have already discussed with you a fire escape plan. If you did NOT have this conversation, I urge you to do so. The kids were sent home with a blank grid on which you could, as a family, create a basic map of your house detailing places one could exit in the event of a fire. Please take a few moments to discuss this important plan. Fire safety is dear and near to my heart as I lost a friend who was unable to escape a house many years ago. 

We also visited the JCC library and every child checked out a book or two. I required kids to choose one nonfiction  book and they will need to read it this week nightly for their reader’s response. I am trying to push kids out of their comfort zone of the typical genre of books they choose. 

I am sending home reminders today with the scheduled time and date of your conference next week. I tried my best to give you all your first or second choice. If you have a conflict, please let me know and we can work something out.
