How do we wish someone a speedy recovery in Kitah Aleph?
Shachar, one of the boys in the virtual class that the students are getting to know, has trouble getting to school on time. So when we read a book about him being missing, the students were sure that he was going to come running in late. But this time he didn’t. He was home in bed. So we practiced what you should do for a friend who is not feeling well. We practiced first calling Shachar wishing him a full recovery. And then we called students in our class. Each took a turn being at home (a blanket on the floor) and talking on the phone with us.
We did this for a reason–not only to practice conversations in Hebrew–but also so that when one of the students is home sick, we can call them. This is to let you know that if your child is home sick we will be calling to wish your child a Refuah Shlema (רפואה שלמה)-a complete recovery and to invite them to come back to Kitah Aleph soon.
Wishing for all of us a year of health and happiness,
Shabbat Shalom,
Morah Donna
