Lentil Soup
Is a pot of lentil soup a good trade for the birthright? Yaakov was not impressed when his brother Eisav demanded the soup he had just cooked for their father Yitzchak, but he realized it was a good opportunity to ask Eisav to switch family positions with him. You see, it was the firstborn in each family that would get to serve in the Bait Hamikdash.
As expected, Eisav eagerly agreed to the trade…
Now for the big question. Was it a fair trade? There was only one way to find out, and that was to taste the lentil soup ourselves!
We ended this story by learning and acting out the story of the blessings.
Stay tuned as the story continues next week!
