Remembering Sukkot 2018

One of my favorite Mitzvot that I get to share with the students in Kitah Aleph is the beautiful ceremony of the Lulav and Etrog on Sukkot.  We learned together that each of the four parts is a special symbol.

The Lulav- the closed young branch of a Date Palm tree is like your Spine helping you to stand straight and tall

The Etrog-the sweet smelling citron fruit is like your heart.

The Hadas branch has leaves that look like your eyes.

And the willow branch has long thin leaves that look like your mouth.

So when you hold all of these things you are doing a Mitzvah with your whole body.
