Tashlich and our first birthday in Kitah Aleph
Shalom Kitah Aleph families,
We had our first birthday in Kitah Aleph this week. Devorah Leah Vorst celebrated her birthday with us by reading a book to the class all in Hebrew. She also wore a birthday crown of flowers. This is an Israeli custom that we adopted in Kitah Aleph a few years ago.
We had a Tashlich ceremony this week and we wrote one of our mistakes from last year on a rock with chalk and after we said the Tashlich (this word means to cast away) prayer then we threw these rocks into the creek to show that we are going to do a better job this year.
The kids and I made for you a Chatima Tova greeting in a video that I hope you will enjoy.

Hope you all have an easy fast
