What Freedom Means To Me

Hello parents,

Third graders are participating in a contest called ‘What Freedom Means To Me,’ which is run by the Matthews Playhouse in honor of the current production of Freedom Train being performed at the theater. Entries can be in the form of writing, drawing, photography or poem- basically any creative form that fits on an 8.5×11 sheet of paper. We brainstormed as a class what ‘Freedom’ actually means and the responses were impressive. Some of the words that came to the kids’ minds were parents, happiness, soldiers, Rosa Parks, MLK, Pesach, Statue of Liberty, presidents, politics, slavery, space, untouched life, religion, and much more. Please click on the link below to see more details of the contest and let me know if you have any questions! I will be sure to send pictures of the final product!
