Hello CJDS families! My name is Danielle Butler and I am excited to join the community as a 4th grade teacher!
I am a Charlotte transplant, having grown up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduating from Towson University with a Bachelors of Science in Family and Human Services with a concentration in Child Life.
I began my career in the Teach for America Corps in Charlotte and completed a Graduate Certification in Middle Grades Science Education from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. My journey as a teacher began in middle grades science in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District for the last five years.
As an educator, I strive to build strong relationships with my students and families. I work within a growth mindset, fostering creativity, curiosity and connectivity between students and their peers. I enjoy building upon curriculum to involve projects and activities that are centered around our learning.
I am excited to bring my energy and passion for learning in the years to come with CJDS!
